The Responsible Dog And The Lazy Raccoon

For this action project we had to make a fable based on one of the rules of the code of conduct. We learned a lot about the code of conduct and how to write a fable and also what a fable is. I am proud of all the work I did in this project. When I was writing my fable I ran into some difficulties because it was hard putting together a story and a code of conduct rule. In the end I like how my story came out. You can read my story below.

The Lazy Raccoon and the Responsible Dog

Once upon a time, there was a responsible dog and a lazy raccoon. The dog and the raccoon shared an apartment. The responsible dog went to work everyday and worked hard, but all the lazy raccoon did was lay on the couch and eat chips. One day, the dog got mad at the raccoon for not having a job. So, when the dog woke up the next morning and found the raccoon laying on the couch, he decided it was time to put his paw down. He woke up the raccoon and said "you have to get a job or else I'm going to kick you out."

So the raccoon decided to go on a job hunt. He went in his room and threw on the first outfit he saw. "That's what you're wearing?" asked the dog angrily. The dog then told him " you should always dress for the job you want not the job you have." While the dog went to work, the raccoon thought about the dog’s advice. The raccoon decided that he wanted a fancy job, but he didn't know how to dress. He threw on a sloppy shirt and left to get a job, but he got turned down every time because of his clothes. At the end of the day, the raccoon came home jobless, which disappointed the dog. The dog ended up kicking him out. The raccoon left, but the next day he was right back at the dog’s door begging for forgiveness.

The dog asked him why he dressed like that to go on a job hunt and the raccoon answered "you said dress for the job I want  but I dint know how to dress so I dressed like any other day." So the dog explained that he meant to dress professionally and make a good impression.

Dress for the job you want not the job you have and always dress to impress.
